On Thursday 28th May 2020, Peabody teamed up with our partners at Share to Buy to host our first webinar - Shared Ownership vs. Help to Buy: Myth busting, as part of their new Expert Sessions webinar series.

The webinar was hosted by Share to Buy's Jade Turnstill as well as our very own Sales Executives Wesley Douglas and Brogan Cooper-Wilby, sharing their expert knowledge and answering frequently asked questions surrounding the Shared Ownership and Help to Buy schemes.

The 30 minute live session gave viewers and potential buyers an insight into the advantages of each purchase method and shed some light on some common misconceptions. The Sales hosts were also asked direct questions from the audience as they conducted a live Q&A section, they responded to various questions ranging from living with a lodger in your Shared Ownership home, repayment of the Help To Buy loan and also which scheme would best suit a buyer's specific budget.

Both Wesley and Brogan spoke candidly about the buying process for each scheme and put buyers minds at ease demonstrating different scenarios making clear that either Shared Ownership or Help To Buy was a viable and affordable way for a first time buyer to get on the property ladder. Brogan even shared with the audience that as a first time buyer, she is currently saving up a deposit to buy her own Shared Ownership home.
