Working from home has become the new normal, so living in a space that seamlessly separates work and home life is extremely important when it comes to looking after your mental wellbeing.
We invited fitness and wellbeing influencer, Esmée_ldn, to spend a day in one of our apartments at Colindale Gardens and explore how she could use the space to suit the new way of life we have all become accustomed to.
“I had such a great day at the Colindale Gardens development, it didn’t take long at all for me to feel at home! The apartment was perfect because I was able to set up a desk in one area and have room to do my live workouts in, being able to create zones is really important to me.”
Esmée made herself at home, as she explored how the space could be used to ensure that mental wellbeing is never put on the back burner.
“Living in the times that we are, it makes a huge difference to be able to section rooms off in your home, so you get the feel of equally separating your headspace. I want to be able to work in one room and relax in another and the apartment did just that for me. The reason I highlight this particularly is because wellness is so important and I think we need to sometimes take it into our own hands to figure out how we can make ourselves feel better, even if it’s just a little bit.”
As a fitness instructor, exercise is a huge contributor to Esmée’ s personal wellbeing which motivated her to transform the apartment space into a serene area for work and play. Inside the apartment, Esmée created zones for Yoga and Pilates and placed her salt lamp and diffuser in the bedroom, providing a relaxing space to unwind. Esmée didn’t stop there, outside she made sure to make use of the communal roof terrace and local parks for some of her more active workouts.
“The smallest adjustments can make a huge difference on how you feel. How you spend your time, where you spend your time, what visually can you see eg. photos, quotes, artwork. Do you have space to exercise, can you bring some colours or scents into your home that make you feel uplifted and happy. These are just a few tips but I’m sure you can find the ones that suit you the best, wellness is a personal thing, so take the time to find out what makes you genuinely happy with what you have around you and available to you.”
