Peabody prices first-time buyer into London with Shared Ownership

Stephanie, a Policy manager was tired of renting in London and was determined to have a place she could call her own, but wasn’t sure how it would be possible. She did some research on how she could overcome the high deposit demands and soaring house prices to get on the property ladder in London.

After, first exploring London Help-to-Buy, a government equity loan scheme, in which you need a minimum 5% deposit to purchase your new build home. Stephanie soon found that Shared Ownership was the better option for her, based on her financial situation.

Vibrant community in Camberwell

Currently renting in Battersea and determined to purchase a property in London that she both loved and could afford, Stephanie came across The Gallery online and chose to explore Camberwell:

“I’m so pleased I ventured out of Battersea to discover something new, Camberwell has such a community feel in comparison to where I used to live. I’m also not a huge fan of the tube, which influenced my decision to purchase here as Camberwell has numerous cycling lanes and bus routes. My commute to work is also a lot easier, which is great, I now cycle to Elephant and Castle and join the Cycle Superhighway over to Blackfriars Bridge.”
